Tammam Aloudat - President - elected 2022 

Tammam is a medical doctor who has worked in multiple humanitarian and global health organisations for over the last 20 years. Passionate about health equity and reform in humanitarianism and global health, he started with MSF in 2012 as the Head of Public Health Department for Operational Centre Amsterdam (OCA). His next post was as Deputy Medical Director for Operational Centre Geneva (OCG), and then as Deputy Executive Director for the MSF Access Campaign until 2021.

His MSF assignments have brought him to Turkey/Syria, Yemen, and Niger. Tammam has also worked in Iraq, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and Libya/Tunisia, among others, during his time with the International Red Cross. He is a prolific writer and lecturer, and has published various pieces on decolonising humanitarianism and humanitarian aid. He was elected as a Board Member and then as President in 2022.

Nigel Jenkins -Vice-President- elected 2023 

Nigel started working for MSF in 1994, with two assignments in Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He then moved to the Amsterdam head office, working first in the Human Resource Management (HRM) department as an advisor for non-medical personnel/Project Coordinators and Head of Missions, and finally HRM Policy Advisor. Later on, he became the Operational Advisor for West Africa and Central Asia, during which time he also sat on the MSF Denmark Board, as a co-opted member.

After taking a step back in 2004, Nigel returned to MSF as the Head of Mission in Pakistan, then as Head of Mission in the Russian Federation. He later joined the International Rescue Committee as Country Director in Afghanistan, and subsequently held Country Director positions in Libya/Tunisia with the Danish Refugee Council; Afghanistan with Mercy Corps; and finally, Myanmar with the Norwegian Red Cross. Nigel is presently retired and was elected first as a Board Member and then as Vice President in 2023.

Wout Adema - Treasurer - co-opted 2022

Wout is Director of Healthcare for the Dutch Association of Health Insurers (Zorgverzekeraars Nederland). He has had previous experience with the accounting company KPMG, and with two Dutch hospitals, working as Chief Finance Officer and Corporate Executive Officer.

Wout has held several supervisory roles for charity and emergency aid organisations. He was the Chair of the Audit Committee of ZOA Refugeecare (an American organisation which raises money for refugee children), before becoming a Board member, and then Chair of the Board.

He is also working with the Salvation Army, as a Board and Audit Committee member. He was elected as Board Member and then as Treasurer in 2022

Karline Kleijer - Secretary - elected 2022 

Karline started working with MSF as a logistician in 2001 in Uzbekistan and left MSF in 2021 after having been the head of the Emergency Department for 6 years. She sees MSF as an organization who supports people who are affected by humanitarian crisis with a focus on those people who are deliberately excluded of healthcare because of who they are, or because of their social status.   

As such, Karline is most proud that she was part of the team which started MSF's activities in the inhumane detention camps for migrants in Libya. She left MSF in 2021 after having been the Head of the Emergency Department for six years. She was elected as Board Member and then as Secretary in 2022.

Annemarie Loof - elected 2022

Annemarie started working for MSF in 2003 as a log/admin in Sri Lanka, and then Darfur in North Sudan. She continued as Project Coordinator for the next eight years in Liberia and Indonesia, and as Head of Mission in Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and DRC.

From 2011 to 2020, Annemarie worked in the MSF-NL office, first as Operations Advisor and then as Operations Manager. In this capacity she spearheaded the operations for several countries, including DRC, India, Haiti, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Libya, and Search and Rescue in the Mediterranean.

She was first co-opted then elected as a Board Member in 2022, and was Vice President from 2022-2023. Annemarie has been working at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition since 2020. In 2019, she completed a Master’s Degree in Leadership and Management at the University of Westminster.

Annemarie ter Veen - elected 2022 

Annemarie ter Veen is a Public Health specialist with broad experience in multi-sectoral humanitarian response programme management, and evaluation in fragile and conflict-affected contexts.

A nurse by training, Annemarie continued on to obtain a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology, and is passionate about information sharing, whether it is through external relations, teaching, networking/coordination, or writing informative reports. She has long-term working experience in Afghanistan, Chad, DRC, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Rwanda, Somalia and Syria, focusing on project development and implementation  in  complex  emergencies.

She has held various MSF roles, including Public Health Nurse and Project Coordinator between 1993 and 2001, and more recently as an evaluator for the MSF Sweden Evaluation Unit. Her other work experience includes that with the World Health Organization and the Dutch Royal Tropical Institute.

Jesse Wambugu - elected 2023

Jesse Wambugu is a business executive and a public health professional with over 20 years of experience in the health sector. He has worked in and managed humanitarian projects across multiple continents in both conflict and emergency settings. At both the international- and national-level, he has worked on and led the development and implementation of new diagnostic tools across Sub-Saharan Africa. He joined MSF in 2003 as Field Laboratory Scientist, with various assignments in South Sudan, Uzbekistan, Sierra Leone, Uganda and DRC. By 2008, he moved to his second MSF role as Project Coordinator, first in South Sudan and then in Haiti, until 2010.

Jesse holds an Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, a Master’s in International Public Health and is an International Coaching Federation-certified executive leadership coach. He is passionate about his daughters, loves the outdoors, and is an avid conservationist.

Rashed Mohammad Mahfuzullah  - elected 2023

Rashed is a medical doctor and a public health specialist with about 12 years of professional experience behind him. He served MSF for 6 years, with role past roles in all five OCs, for international and national assignments, and covering refugee crisis, urban health and planetary health. He served as medical activity manager, deputy Project Medical Referent (PMR), and PMR, and has been vocal in associative movements across MSF SARA and MSF NL. Included in his memorable assignments were in the aid of the Rohingya refugee crisis and in the unique occupational and environmental health scenario in Kamrangirchar.

Rashed’s main expertise is in occupational and environmental health, but his studies have covered disaster management, tropical medicine, and international relations. He has written occupational health protocols and constructed many Information Education Communication materials for his projects, and has been most recently pursuing his second Master’s degree in Global Health in Sweden.

Sunita Baskar Abraham - co-opted 2023

Sunita Baskar Abraham is a Medical Doctor with over 15 years of experience in health and development. She has worked with MSF since 2010 in various capacities as a medical doctor, PMR, Deputy MedCo, and MedCo. Sunita was also been on the board of MSF South Asia (formerly SARA) 2014-2023, serving as chair for two years and representing the Regional Association at the OCA Council.

Sunita's passion lies in advocating for health and improving access to healthcare for those in crisis. Her expertise includes strategic planning, managing country operations, project monitoring and evaluation, and networking. She has provided leadership in implementing hospital and health programs, with a focus on tropical and neglected diseases.

Vincent Hoedt - elected 2022

incent was elected in the MSF-Netherlands Board in June 2022, after having been co-opted from April - June 2022.

After finishing his studies in Tropical Agriculture, he joined MSF in 1996 and spent the next ten years as logistician, Watsan emergency coordinator and Head of Mission, including in DRC, Sudan and Colombia a few times. In 2006, Vince joined OCA in Amsterdam as emergency manager at the Emergency Support Department (ESD). He became Head of OCA ESD, until 2015, for the Haiti Earthquake, opening the mission in Syria, Libya and beyond.

After a short break, he became Deputy Director of Operations in 2016.

Wil van Roekel - elected 2022 

Wil has taken various roles for MSF in CAR, DRC, Chad and Uzbekistan over the last 22 years. She was first a nurse then quickly transitioned to being Medical Team Leader then Medical Coordinator.

In 2014, she started and facilitated the OCA Staff Health Unit for international staff going to work in Ebola projects. Her most recent assignment was in South Kivu, DRC, ending in 2020. She was Policy Officer for the COVID Response Team before retiring. Wil has a strong interest in international public health and humanitarian emergency aid. A nurse by training, she has a Master’s Degree in Innovation and Change Management. 

She sees herself as a strategic thinker, dedicated to achieving results, with the ability to handle conflicts, as well as a good listener and people manager.
