MSF Netherlands Association

Who are we?

The MSF-Netherlands Association team is responsible for managing the MSF-NL Board and Asociation and directly coordinates all the projects and activities to connect the membership with the Board and the MSF movement as a whole.

Charlotte Lee - Association and Board Team Coordinator

Charlotte is from the UK, and has worked for MSF since September 2018. She spent three years as the Association and Public Engagement Officer for MSF UK, followed by stints as Mobile Event Coordinator for MSF in Nigeria, one of the MSF-UK Press Officers, and Field Communications Manager for MSF in Lithuania. It didn’t take her long to return to her roots in MSF associative life, and she joined the MSF-NL Association team in November 2022.

She originally studied Classical Studies and Theology, followed by a Masters in Classics, which she thinks set her up perfectly for MSF’s associative life; a love for complex conversations of principle, and a healthy respect for digging into archaic documents.

She hopes to support the MSF-NL Association members take on the rights and responsibilities of membership, in order to contribute to the collective ownership and good governance of the organisation.

Maelle Rodney - Board Assistant [interim]

Maelle is from France and this is her first time working with MSF as MSF-NL Board Assistant. She previously studied in London while completing a BSc in International Social and Public Policy. Her main academic interests are the study of migration and gender.

She has experience working in the charity and public sector which prepared her well to support the MSF board. She is happy to be joining this team and support the governance of MSF Netherlands.

Maria De Villa - Board Assistant [on extended leave]

Magandang araw! Maria is the MSF-NL Board Assistant and mini source of random movie trivia. She worked in various talent and learning capacities for the private sector before moving to Maastricht from the Philippines in 2021.  

This role is her first experience with MSF, and she’s eager to contribute to the cultivation of the relationship between the Board and the Association members. 

Maria’s favourite colours are yellow and green, her favourite animals are scruffy-faced Jack Russell Terriers.

Zeynet Oztunca Aytugan - Association Officer 

Zeynet is originally from Istanbul, Turkey. She has a Master’s Degree in Comparative Cultural Studies from Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, and her academic studies focused on gender inequality in Turkish culture, discourse and deconstruction in cultural analysis.  

She always wants to be a change-maker for a better world and thus, she has been working to create social impact since 2014.  She has experience in human rights projects aiming to support strategies that improve education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth. After working at several local NGOs and lastly at UNICEF, she is excited to provide her support to this wonderful team.
